The Saint-Emilion Jurade inducts Sting!

People know Sting as the lead singer of The Police with a successful solo career. He is also an enthusiastic defender of the environment (he co-founded the Rainforest Foundation) and a big wine enthusiast. In 1995, he and his wife Trudie Styler purchased the Il Palagio Estate in Tuscany where he makes organic white, rosé and red wines. One of his wines, “Message in a Bottle,” is 100% Sangiovese.

On April 6th, the prestigious Saint-Emilion Jurade inducted Sting into its historic, 3,000-member organization. Chinese Actress Zhao Wei, a dear friend of Sting, hosted guests at her recently-restored Château Monlot Estate.

The inauguration featured a red carpet, singers and performers, a fireworks display and a video presentation mapping the Château’s history. 3-star Chef Christian Le Squer of The Four Seasons George V in Paris created the event’s dinner.

Sting serenaded the Saint-Emilion wines and their growers with a solo rendition of his mega-hit “Message in a Bottle.”
